You’re Not Losing Weight

You’ve tried countless times to lose weight, but you can’t quite overcome the obstacles standing in your way, or can’t even begin to fathom why your hard work isn’t paying off. There are many reasons as to why you’re not losing weight, so in order to find a solution to the problem, you need to know what the problem may be.


Sure, you may be exercising, but you may not be exercising enough. This is usually the number one reason for not losing weight. Exactly what type of exercises should you be doing and how often should you be doing them? Basically, when it comes to shedding pounds, you need a combination of cardio exercise and strength training. If you truly desire to lose weight, then your body needs about 5 cardio workouts per week for at least 30 minutes. Strength training needs to be incorporated at least 2 times a week to work your muscle groups. When combined, these two forms of exercise will bring you the results you desire.


When you exercise on a regular basis, your body eventually adjusts to your current intensity level. If you notice that you’re not losing weight, it’s time to step it up a notch. Another reason that can inhibit your success is not giving your body enough fuel. You must continue to eat the proper amount of calories in order to keep your metabolism active.


Sleep does more than give your body the boost it needs to function during the day. It also enhances your brainpower. Without a proper amount of sleep, you can become cranky, depressed, and completely unable to function with energy. Having a rested body and a rested mind, will make your exercise regimen much more enjoyable and beneficial.


Exercising is great, but are you consistent with it? What are your eating habits like? Do you deprive your body of proper nutrition? If you’ve answered no, to any of these questions, then it could be the answer to why you’re not losing weight. In order to reach your weight-loss goals, you need to pair exercise with healthy eating habits. When the two are combined, the rewards are endless. If you blow it on the weekend, don’t worry--just pick up where you left off starting the next day.


Everyone loses weight differently. This includes the places of weight loss and the time involved. For example, a 20-year old is going to lose weight much faster than someone in their 40s. Why? Because the younger you are, the faster your metabolism is. Therefore, you need to keep that in mind before you begin a fitness regimen. Another thing to keep in mind is that your body shape is going to differ from someone else’s. It may take you longer to lose belly weight than one of your friends. On the flip side, your friend may struggle with slimming down her thighs while that’s the first place you lose your weight. Remember to assess the situation before you start working out. If you don’t, you may find yourself getting discouraged, which will leave you feeling as though you’ve failed.


You can lose weight with hard work and focus. If you think positively and stay dedicated, you will get the results you want. Don’t give up--you owe it to yourself to live a healthy lifestyle now and in the years to come.
